Has any researchers of the Thomas Wiley and Eveline Unknown line made any definite connections as to what her maiden name might have been?
What was her approx. birth year?
Has anyone suspected that she may have been the daughter of William Nelson, b. abt. 1800 (son of Old Emmaneul Nelson of NC); m1. Sally STROUD(Strand)b. abt 1802 (dau. of Mark STROUD(Strand)of NC). They were mar. Mar. 01, 1822 in Floyd Co., KY (Early Floyd Co., KY Marriages in Johnson Co., KY)?
The Wm. and Sally Nelson are speculated parents of William Nelson, Jr., Farmer Nelson, b. 1825, and Eveline Nelson.
William Nelson, Jr. and Farmer Nelson are living in Wayne Co. VA(WV) in the 1850-early 1860's.Wayne Co., WV County Clerk Birth Records show that a William Nelson listed as 'reporting entity' as the new child's 'grandfather', for his son Wm., Nelson, Jr., listed as 'father,' on the birth record listing in the mid 1850's.Farmer Nelson is listed as 'reporting entity' and 'father' for several of his children, also in the mid to late 1850's.
Elihue Wiley was in the 39th Regiment, Co., I, KY Infantry.
If anyone has acquired Elihue Wiley's Pension Soldier Records fromthe National Archives, they would probably give many details and general affidavits of testimony to his service. If his wife applied for Widow's benefits, then she would have had to done the same, by getting person's and family, friend's, comrade's, and neighbor's to testify on her behalf and the proof of his service in the Military. These testimonies could be very helpful in giving details of who knew this couple and who they were related to.
Any takes on this Eveline being a NELSON, would be most helpful in clearing up, if it already hasn't.....
