John W. Wiley’s place of death, obtained from a Missouri newspaper obit in Sarah Louise Smith’s scrapbook, is NOT accurate, nor does it name the daughter (who would have had to be either Mary F. or Josephine, no doubt married and living in Texas by 1881).There is not - and never was - a FORT Weatherford TX, and we have unsuccessfully searched death records and cemeteries in the town of Weatherford TX (west of Ft. Worth), as well as the rest of Parker Co, for John W. Wiley.
Therefore, we are LOOKING FOR DESCENDANT(S) who might have more accurate information and who could fill us in on the fate of the rest of John W. Wiley’s children.A quick search of Iowa marriages has turned up the following possible married names for Mary - Boyd, Pugh, McLean and Kuns; and for Josephine - Waggoner/Wagener.
