you stated that Elihue Wiley's daughter Sarah Wiley married a George Nelson?Where did you find your sources?
I found in the Logan County Courthouse Marriage Records for 1883, Logan Co., WV a marriage for a Sarah Wiley dau of Eli Wiley to a Farmer Nelson son of Farmer Nelson and Matilda Maynard.
This same Farmer Nelson Jr., had a brother named William Nelson who married Margaret Wiley, daughter of Elihue Wiley, and there fore a sister to Sarah Wiley, establishing a familial link of these two families.
Also, Farmer Nelson's sister was Eveline Nelson who was married to Thomas Wiley, parent's of Elihue Wiley. Thus establishing even more familial kinship of these families among the NELSON's and WILEY's going back to Lawrence Co., KYand Early Floyd Co., KY when Old Emanuel Nelson lived, father to Lucretia Christine Nelson....
Census records for Wayne Co., VA beginning in 1850 will show these families living within two to four households of each other....on the same census pages--Farmer Nelson and Thomas Wiley.
I also, have general affidavits of testimony that state that William Nelson brother of Farmer Nelson Jr., (sons of Farmer Nelson and Matilda Maynard) were in the Dakota Territory in Dec. 1885 when Farmer Nelson Jr., died.
My speculations have been, that shortly after Farmer Nelson Jr., and Sarah Wiley married, they moved north to be with her father and family, as did William Nelson and his wife Margaret Wiley Nelson. After Farmer Nelson Jr.'s death, William and Margaret Nelson moved back to WV.
I would appreciate any specific information you may have in regards to where the Wiley and Nelson families may have resided.A burial location or cemetery listing Farmer Nelson Jr., would be great.
