My 3rd great grandfather is George Wiley. Originally I had him born in Iowa, but I now believe from extensive research that he was born in Ohio. He was married to Catharine Snyder (born abt. 1820 in Maryland). They had the following children: William Wiley (born June 16, 1839 in Iowa - he married Catherine Renner (born January 4, 1840 in Tennessee). One of their children was named Martha "Mattie" Murneva Wiley born January 25, 1866 in Missouri), Allen Wiley (born abt. 1842 in Iowa), John Wiley (born abt. 1843 in Iowa), Catharine Wiley (born abt. 1846 in Iowa), George W. Wiley (born August 1847 in Iowa), Robert Wiley (born August 1849 in Iowa), Martin Wiley (born abt. 1851 in Iowa), Henry Wiley (born abt. 1854 in Texas), David Wiley (born abt. 1857), Nancy Wiley (born abt. 1860 in Texas), and Andrew Wiley (born abt. 1863 in Texas).
My family may be your family as well.Geo is short for George.I did have him born in Iowa, but the census' say other wise.He was married in Porter, Ohio in 1837.Most of his children were born in Iowa. The family was living in Jackson County, Iowa during the 1850 census.
George's wife Catharine (Snyder) Wiley must have remarried to John Renner (who I believe is the father of William Wiley's wife, Catherine Renner - my 2nd great grandparents) according to the 1870 census of Buck Prairie Township, Lawrence County, Missouri. The older children including George and Catharine's daughter Catharine were not on the census with John Renner and Catharine (Snyder-Wiley) Renner and her younger children with George Wiley.
I find it interesting that your Catharine also married a Renner as did my 2nd great grand father (possibly your Catharine's brother), and then later, his mother remarried a Renner (believed to be William's wife's father). The Catharine Wiley I have as George Wiley's daughter is close in the birth year to your Catharine (I was not sure if it was 1845 or 1846), and its interesting that your Catharine's middle name is the same middle name as William's daughter (just spelled alittle different, but who knows one of the spellings could be wrong.Personally, I think the correct way to spell the middle name is Minerva, but that is not what I had found). Both, your Catharine and my family lived in Jackson County, Iowa.Chances are your Catharine and my Catharine are one in the same.
I will have to continue researching to verify your Catharine and the one I have.Good luck with your research and if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
