Lots of old family letters that I purchased from an antique shop, hoping to re-unite them with the family.
They are dated between 1880 and 1913. Incredible documentation of an interesting family life on the plains of Nebraksa and Kansas City, MO.
I found the 1910 census showing the family listed as living on Lexington Avenue in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Nebraska.
Walker, William Henry age 59 born England Walker, Eliza S. (Nichols) 51 born England Walker, John H 26 Walker, Ethel E 22 Walker Allen W 29 Walker Bernie S 14 Walker Margaret R 12 Nichols, Rebecca S 73 mother-in-law born England Nichols, Joshephine 25 niece
In one of the old letters is William Henry Walkers obituary dated 1913, remains laid to rest in the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska. Along with a letter written by Eliza shortly after to her sister Nellie (Ellen) (Nichols) the wife of Mr. L.Robert Wilhelm of 3518 Roberts Street Kansas City, MO.
Also in the 1880's Miss Ellen C Nichols was living at the "Home for the Friendless" in Lincoln Neb.
There is also a letter from Papa to Stanley Kenneth Wilhelm of Lawrence Kansas dated 1906.
Please contact me if you have any info on this family or know how I may get in touch with some of the descendants
