I descend from the Roberson County NC Wilkes.Roberson County isthe area of both the Chreaw and Lumbee's. My 4th great-grandfather, Francis Wilkes, moved from Roberson County, NC about 50 miles West to Patrick, Chesterfield County, SC in abt 1795.This put him just a few miles West of the Town of Cheraw and the heart of theCheraw tribe.I am not aware of any of the Wilkes marrying any of these Native [email protected]
