Obituary - HALLIE L. (HART) TRACY BUSSARD WINFREE
Hallie L. Winfree, age 94, of Hutchinson, KS died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Golden Plains Health Care Center.
Hallie was born on April 19, 1911 in Galva, KS to Phillip Lafayette Hart and Minty Ratliff Hart.She attended Canton/Galva Schools in McPherson County.She was an U.S. Forest SErvice Cook in Central Valley, CA, retiring in 1968.In the 1940's she was the owner/operator of the M&M Cafe at 3rd & Main Street and a retaurant on East Avenue B.She was a resident of Burrton since 1976, moving from Redding, CA.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Tryon, OK and past member of Acacia Chapter #37 OES.She married Ernest C. Winfree on September 19, 1970 in Carson City, NV.Ernest died September 11, 1996. [SSDI b. 13 Apr 1912, AR; d. 11 Sep 1996, Burrton, Harvey Co, KS].
Hallie was preceded in death by son, Glenn G. Tracy, Sr., granddaughter, Kathleen A. Tracy, three brothers, oscar, Lafe and Cleo Hart, four sisters, Edith Carey, Lola Morris, Sara Raber and Margaret Magazine and many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include daughter, Cleota M. Petty of Redding, CA; daughter-in-law, Marge Tracy of Belle Vista, AR; four stepchildren, Ernest Winfree, Jr. of Sacramento, CA, Max Bussard of Hutchinson, KS, Darrell Bussard of Larned and Jerry Bussard of Texas; sister, Evelyn Martens of Hutchinson, KS; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Elliott Chapel.Chaplain Paul Danner will officiate.Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park.
