Wingerters-in PA, OH, IN, VA, 1800's
My great-grandmother, Ada May Wingerter, lived in Winchester, Virginia. Her father, David Wingerter, was the oldest of 6 children born to John Wingerter and Barbara Dellit (spelling?). John immigrated to America from Bavaria along with his sister Mary and mother Catherine. His father Peter had died in Bavaria. He, his wife, mother, and son David are in Lancaster, PA in 1850, sometime thereafter they moved to Stark and Wayne counties, Ohio, where the other children were born. They then moved to Frederick County Virginia before 1871, as some of the children are married there. Most stayed in Frederick County. The only other son, Abraham Abram Wingerter moved back to Ohio. The oldest girl, and 2nd oldest child, Fanny married a Martin Kline. They moved back to Ohio, had a son, then moved on to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she died. If anybody can help me, that would be great.
