John W. Winney born March 14, 1797, Fonda, NY the son of William D. Winne born September 20, 1769 and Maryte Flansbury (Flansburg)born February 09, 1760 in Schenectady NY.
John's wife was Elizabeth Crounse born May 07, 1800 the daughter of Frederick P. Crounse born December 10, 1768 and Maria Donney. Frederick was the son of Phillip Crounse bornNovember 11, 1743 in Germany and Anna Maria Schwartz.
They lived in Altamont Albany County New York.
The famlies came from Cherry Valley, Otsego County NY and Schoharie County New York and Frederick purchesed 650 acres of land in Saint Joseph County Michigan about 1835.
He sold 200 acres of it to John Winney in 1836.
