Re: PHILIP WIRTS 1800 TIME PERIOD, BALTIMORE, MD
Hi Jonathan--I hope you're still out there researching.I'm still working the WERTS name. My James WIRT/WERTS married Mary WHITE in Baltimore 1811. While trying to locate him in 1810, I find the Philip WIRTS name in Baltimore Co., wards 2-6 along with A. WHITE.In the 1798 Particular Assessment Lists for Baltimore, he shows as Philip WINTZ, in Dist. 6., near Michael WINTZ and on the same page as Andrew WHITE, probable father of Mary White WIRT.
I believe that my James WIRT may have been living with Philip WIRTS in Baltimore in 1810, the other 26-45 male in his H/hold. James WIRT comes from the WIRT family of Pr. George's Co. I think Philip WIRTS was related to this family, and more closely to the WERTZ family of Loudon Co., VA. Both of these families came from PA to Frederick Co., MD. before settling in VA and the P.G. part of MD. and I believe that they were related.
I cannot find any more information on this Philip WIRTS.
