Bucky,The Sarah E. and A.I. Wix you mentioned in your post are my G-G Grandparents.Sarah Elizabeth (Latham) Wix and Absalom Ireson Wix.
The records you mentioned of your G-G-grandfather, John Lester trading land in Sullivan County, TN for a piece of land in Spring Creek, Washington Co., VA. might be a piece of missing information I've been looking for for quite a while!I knew my Wix family lived in Sullivan County, TN where my G-Grandmother, Anna Wix, was born. However, I never knew when they came to TN from Abingdon, Washington Co., VA.If you have a copy of the record, would you be willing to share a copy with me?
I'm not sure of the Sarah E Wicks you mention living in Glade Spring in 1880.You said she was born in TN in 1860.MY Sarah E. Wix was born 17 Jun 1844, Wahington Co., VA.She died 10 Apr 1927, probably in Sullivan Co., TN.A.I. Wix died 27 Apr 1931 at the home of his son, Rev. Thomas Wix of Jellico, Campbell Co., TN.He is buried in Cleveland, VA.If the Glade Spring you mentioned is the one in Campbell Co., TN, there might be some kind of connection.
The Wix family is the one branch of my family I'm least knowledgeable of.I wish I knew more.Oh, you mentioned the land trade was done in the 1870's.A.I. and Sarah were married in Washington Co., VA on 17 April 1876.I bet they moved to Sullivan Co. just after being married.
Well, I'll go for now.Get in touch with me if you'd like. Thanks for the information you posted.I think you answered some questions I've been needing answered.Tke care.
