Your reply really gets me going. My gg grandmother was Ella Jane Luce daughter of Robert Luce a descendant of Henry....Henry married Sarah Lazell, descendant of Stephen Hopkins and Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. If there is a woodworth luce connection it explains the picture...I also have one of a miss Dimon (handwritten on back) of Boston...could be your Damon.I recently had a computer virus which wiped out all the pictures I had scanned and my entire GEDCOM. Ella (Elsie) Jane Luce was born 1827 in NY.Here father was from Pomfret Vt.Both parent died before Ella was 11...her mother in 1833 and father in 1838. Ella was one of 10 children and was taken in by Josiah Flint Willard and his daughter, Frances E Willard, the famous temperance and sufferage author and lecturer...President of the World Women's Christian Temperance Union. Ella married Jasper Benjamin Mallory 1853 Freeport Illinois. She had met him while on a trip to the area..probably with Francis. Some of the other pictures include Dwight L Moody, the great evangelist (with who Francis worked) and PP Bliss writer of many hymns. They were also associated with Fleming Hewett Revell whose sister Charlotte married Dwight Moody.Revell publishing is largest publisher of Christian materials in US.
Please contact me and we can exchange pics, information, etc.Perhaps, you can fill out the Woodworth Luce Damon connection for me.Regards, Mallory Smith mallorymail@aol.com
