Felix,

I keep seeing your name on many of the sites for my family I research.

You do have the names Wooley, Woolley, Woolever, Woolege, etc as I have also found my family name using.

Perhaps you can help me with my gg-grandfather Woolley (to me).His name is Thomas Chandler Woolley (I think I noticed you had Chandler also) born early 1800's?

I found record of his marriage in 1844 in OH and his moving to NJ where my g-grandfather was born.As much as he suddenly appeared, I lost him.Perhaps he served in some military and was killed. In 1861, my g-grandfather, George was living with the Coonrad or Conrad family. In 1880 OH census, Thomas's wife was in OH again living with her father and some of the children as a widow. She was buried in MD.Her maiden name was Rhoda Dorsey b 1826, daughter of Silas and Mary Smith, Dorsey, my ggg-grandparents too.

My Rhoda is a descendant of Edward Dorsey, known as the Immigrant.

Knowing something of the naming patterns of those days, I have guess some ancestor of my gg-grandfather must have been a Chandler.I am hoping this may help me find other family too.I know the names of Thomas Woolley/Wooley/etc descendants, and some of their spouses and families.Could you be of any assistance?

I was told by another researcher, that the name Woolley was once changed in the courts of NY to Woolege.I don't know if that was my line.Matter-of-fact, I find I have more than one line of Woolley/etc family, but Thomas is my direct line.

Any and all help will be appreciated and I will share anything I know.

Thank you in advance and for your time.
