Re: John Woodworth from NB or Nova Scotia, Canada
Was reading your discussion on the two Rhodas, not being an expert on the Woodworths, I thought I would wade into the discussion anyhow.
I believe that Rhoda Edgett married an individual that moved out of Albert County (and Westmorland County) before the 1851 census, as
1) There are inviduals born to John and Rhoda after 1831 that are definately named after the Steeves lineage, including Lewis, Council and Margaret.
2) there is no gravestone in Albert County to indicate the death of a previous Rhoda
3) Normally, when someone remarries in the Hillsborough census, the censustaker notes which of the children are "his, hers or theirs", and there is no indication of that this time.
Rhoda was buried with the Martins in Albert Mines. if she was "only" a stepmother, i don't think she would have been accorded that position.
Just my two cents worth.
