Benetta:

DEED RECORDS OF GREENE COUNTY, INDIANA, Office of the Recorder, Court House, Bloomfield, IN, Book A, Page 326, Recorded 18 Jun 1831:Martin WINES on 4 Feb 1831 deeded to Leamon S. WOODWORTH for the sum of $250. the NENE & Part of the SWNE of Section 4 Township 7 North Range 5 West which is located on the west side of White River in Fairplay Township. In another Deed in Book U, Page 177, WINES deeded 11.04 Acres out of the NWNW of Section 3-7-5 to Leamon S. WOODWORTH

Book B-335 Leamon S. WOODWORTH & wife, deeded the above tract to Daniel WOODWORTH on the 7 Jan 1836 which was recorded on 1 Feb 1836.

Book C, Page 71: Daniel WOODWORTH, JR & wife deeded this tract to Andrew DOWNING ON 22 Feb 1837.

I did not see any land transactions after these dates. There was a group of Mormons living in the area around where the WOODWORTHs owned at that time. They left the area and were lead by a Dr. PATTEN out west.Dr. PATTEN apparently was killed in an uprising against the Mormons. He was a Mormon apostle, I believe.

This obituary which you referred to indicates the family of WOODWORTH moved in this time frame also and as a small girl she stayed with her Uncle MOULDEN.

I feel that you might find something further if you check out some of the Mormon history, maybe not.

This is about all I can help you with in this line.
