Re: Bristol England Wookey family

I have just come across you message concerning the Wookey family (posted 23 Feb 2003) and I think we have a connection!

I am a relative newcomer to genealogy and have only recently been researching the Wookey side of my family. They originated in Shipham, Somerset before settling in the Bedminster area of Bristol, England.
My great grandmother was a Julia Wookey (born in Bedminster in 1857) and she had an older brother, Edwin L Wookey (born in Bedminster around 1852). I am sure that my Edwin L and your Edwin Lewis are the same person.

Julia married a William Cooper, in Bristol but tragically she died at the age of only 42, leaving nine children aged between 17 months and 17 years.

How tragic that Harry, Florence and three of their children were killed in the blitz! Unfortunately I do not have any information on Edna and Albert but if you like I can see what I can find out for you. Are you interested in Edwin Lewis Wookey's parents, or any of his siblings?
