Re: Joseph Worley m Nicy Truitt
I have quite a bit of info on Elias P. Allen.Let me list some of the basics to see if this is the Elias that you are researching. The reason I have so much information is that I believe he is the Elias P. Allen who married my great, great grandmother Esther Curtis in Calhoun County, Iowa in 1867 and then later walked away from the marriage and she subsequently divorced him in Carroll Co, Iowa in 1876. He was born in Sullivan Co., Missouri Sept 20, 1844.He served in the Civil War - 8th Regiment Iowa Vol. Cavalry - from 1863-1865.He hadthree (possibly four) wives:Elizabeth Mellon, Mattie Moore, and Mary Hodge. In addition to my great grandmother Lulu Allen and her brother Percy Allen, Elias had five children - Dora, Joe, Guy, Shelley and Bessie. He died May 12, 1925 and is buried at the Iowa Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Is this the man that you know?I would certainly like to correspond with someone who knows this man.
