A friend just sent me info about this Worrell who was in the Nat Turner rebellion. He was overseer Caswell WORRELL.However he was not killed.According to p. 86 "The Fires of Jubilee"
Caswell Worrell refused to leave the field when slave Nelson Williams tried to get him to go to the house and this saved his life. However, his wife and a son were killed in the rebellion.Has anyone done the genealogy of this Caswell Worrell?I'd love to see if I can connect him to Wesley J. Worrell who appears in Perry County AL in 1839 (first document re Wesley.)
I did find Caswell Worrell in the 1860 Northampton County VA census. He was listed as living in home with Living with Anthonry Vick age 16
? James a female age 12
Mary Drake female age 23
I'm going to speculate that these are his grandchildren?????
According to this census he would have been born in 1801 so would have been around 30 years old at the time of the rebellion.
