Tom Bilton WRIGGLESWORTH - SENIOR family connections
I have an oil painting with the initials TBW 1896 showing sheep on a moorland. Tracing dim and distant recollections I recalled that this had been inherited from my aunt, and was painted by my grandmother's "Uncle Wrigglesworth".
Thansk to the 1881 and 1901 English Census data I think I have proof that this was in fact Tom Bilton Wrigglesworth, born at Oulton (parish of Rothwell) about 1846. He married Ellen SENIOR, born about 1854 in Leeds, daughter of Thomas SENIOR, and Elizabeth CHATTERTON (who married at Rothwell 1.5.1836). In 1901 Tom was Managing clerk of a clothiers in Leeds.
I am happy that they had the following children, but there may well have been others:
John Percival Wrigglesworth, b. about 1879, haven't yet found him in 1901
Bilton Senior Wrigglesworth, b. about 1880, hosiers assistant in Hull in 1901
Vincent Chatterton Wrigglesworth, b. Dec. Q 1881, clothiers assistant in Leeds in 1901.
One of Ellen Senior's elder brother's was Vincent Senior, b. 18.2.1839, my g.grandfather.
