DNA -- Wyatt & Mann Connection? Malachi Mann & Robert Wyatt, Stewart Co., TN?
We have a DNA mystery match between Myron Mann and Randy Wyatt.Myron decends from Captain Malachi Mann of North Carolina (1750-1830) and Randy descends from Edmund Wyatt (1791-1855), born in North Carolina, but lived and died in Russell County, Virginia.Myron and Randy have DNA that matches 100% on all 46-markers of their tests....a sure sign they are directly related somehow, yet neither of us knows of anyone with the other surname in our families. It is quite possible that these two men descend from brothers or nephews of Malachi Mann and Edmund Wyatt, and we know nothing for sure about those men's parents and siblings.
We are looking for any possible clues. Was there an adoption? Was there an unwed mother who reared her child with her own maiden name?Did a Mann or a Wyatt run away and try to disappear and assumed the other name?
In 1820 Stewart County, Tennessee we find a Malachi Mann (not the old captain but perhaps a nephew or cousin) and a Robert Wyatt both in residence, and both have children in the home who were almost old enough to marry and have children. If anyone reading this descends from either of these men and knows of a male child born who was reared with the other name, we'd like to know.
