JAMES WYLIE, son of Henry and Agnes Wylie, was born in Elderslie, Scotland, in 1826. Having learned the trade of spinner, he emigrated to America and located at Waterloo, Seneca Co., Ny, and he was employed two years in the Waterloo shawl factory, where he learned the manufacturer of woolen goods, and in 1857 located at Milltown, PA, whence he removed, in 1865, to Perry, Wyoming Co., NY, where he is the proprietor of the Perry Woolen Mills, which turn out ten thousand yards annually, and give employment to eight skilled workmen. In 1859 he married MARY S. THOMPSON, of Athens, PA, by whom he has six children. Mr. and Mrs. Wylie are members of the Baptist church.
