Stith Lucannus Wynne was the grandson of William Wynne and Rebecca Davis. My gr-grandfather, Peter Davis Wynne,Sr. was also the grandson of William and Rebecca.
Stith married Rebecca William Wynne on 23 Dec. 1851 in Shelby Co.Rebecca died 14 July 1865 and is buried in Big Creek Cemetery in Shelby Co. Stith and Rebecca had 7 children--all born 1853, 1855, 1857, 1859, 1861, 1863.Their last child, an infant son died 10 days prior to Rebecca and is buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Question:Why did they bury him there and Rebecca at Big Creek?
I have no record of a Sith being married to a "Mary".If Annie Elizabeth was born in 1856 she would have been born between Lucius born in 1855 and Cora A. Elizabth born in 1857.
I have been researching the Wynne family for over 50 years and have been to the Shelby Co. Library and Court House, many years ago.
I am extremely interested in the Wynnes of Shelby Co.Peter Davis Wynne, Sr. migrated there from Wake Co., NC., etc., etc. etc.
It is not necessary that you send me a copy of the Death Certificate. This has really piqued my interest!! I always get excited when I read any new data on my Wynne family.
Deloris Wynne-Riley.
