Wythe, thanks for sharing this short biography of George Wythe. As you can see by the following entries on Wythe in the index of my new book, Thomas Jefferson - Roots of Religious Freedom, I had many opportunities to show his close relationship with Thomas Jefferson.
Most of what Jefferson learned about law came from Wythe. Wythe was the one who administered his bar exam. Wythe instilled within Jefferson the burden for abolishment of slavery. Wythe was one of the signers, along with Jefferson, of the Declaration of Independence. Wythe was like a father to Jefferson, and opened his home in Williamsburg to him on regular occasions. Without Wythe, there would never have been the Jefferson that we have come to know and recognize for his revolutionary ideas. What did I overlook? Thanks again for offering this bio. How are you related to him? To find out more about my book, go to: www.jeffersonreligiousfreedom.com/
