Actually I have some info from the internet on the Graves family.Don't know who gave this information, but I do remember that it came off the internet.

John Graves was born about 1715 and d. 18 Jan. 1792 (too late to be the John Graves in the TN deed), but he did have the following children:
John Herndon Graves (b. 1749, d. 28 Aug. 1829)
Mary Graves Kerr (1754, d. 1831)
Thomas Graves (d. before 1800)
Barzillai Graves (1759 d. 1827)
Ann Graves married Bartlett Yancey, d. c. 1851
Soloman Graves (1766, d. 1830)
Azariah Graves (1768, d. 1950)
James Graves (1772, d. 1826)
Isabella Graves Slade (1782)
So it appears that the John Graves listed in the deed in Giles County is the John Herndon Graves mentioned above...
