I am related to a Robert Ross Campbell from Graves County, KY. He is listed on the 1850 Graves County Census with his parents, John and Margaret Campbell.Robert marries a Louisa Yarbrough on Dec 15, 1852 in Graves County...Louisa is listed as a widow and being born in Stewart County, TN on the marriage record. Is Yarbrough her maiden name since she is listed as a widow??
On the 1860 & 1870 census, both Robert and Louisa are in Graves County with 2 children - Martha and John. There is a William on the 1860 census....is he Louisa's child from a previous marriage?
Now comes the part which goes against all that I have read on message boards. My Robert and Louisa move to Oregon County, MO. and are on the 1900 census....Robert is 69 yo and Louisa is 78 yo.Neither are listed on the 1910 census, so I had always assumed they died between 1900 & 1910.What I have read on several message boards is they died in 1890's and are buried in Graves County,KY.
Both of Robert and Louisa's children die in Oregan County, MO and their death certificates state their parents are Robert Campbell and Louisa Yarber or Yarborgh.
So I am really confused!! Were there really 2 different couples....one stays in Kentucky and one goes to Missouri? It just seems like too much of a coincident. I am totally open to any theories or corrections to my assumptions.
