Hi Karri: Thanks for posting the note about your cousin. I did not know, but I recently became fascinated by her story. (I live in the East Village where she died.) While reading online newspaper articles on the Fulton County history site, I chanced upon an article on the homicide. As I tracked the paper trail, I learned only small tidbits about Ann (she read poetry and knew people in that community), but I did gain an odd suspicion about the crime: I sensed that the police "solved" the case with the wrong man. French was undoubtedly a sexual predator and a madman, but the case against Morelli seems to have been stronger (a known association; a scheduled date; familiarity with the apartment; injuries on the night of the murder; and sexual offenses and violence in his past.)
It was good to read your post: The details of Ann Yarrow's all-too-brief life are more comforting than those of her cruel demise. Please feel free to contact me.
