Brenda thanks for responding, but I don't know! I can only wish to find any information. Melissa Charlotte Yourex,b.June of 1845 in Canada west, and as I've discovered means Ontario, was my gr.gr.grandmother. According to a 1900 census record of Barry Co.,Mich.,she came to the U.S. in 1848. I did find an 1860 census record for the same county,Maple Grove Twp. that lists a family as follows: John Yerkes,b.Canada,58, wife Charlotte,b.Vermont,52, children: James,b.Canada,18,Melissa,b.Canada,15,Anna,b.Canada,11,Louisa,b.Canada,9,Lelia?,b.Canada,7. This info. fits my gr.gr.grandmothers birth range. I have not yet been able to find out where she passed away,or is buried. I do have a copy of a death certificate for an Ann Victoria Yourex from Barry County. It states that she was born June 13,1837 in Canada. Her father was Cornelius Scott, born in Canada, and her mother was Sarah Young, born in Canada. Ann Victoria Yourex passed away on April 13,1911. I believe this Ann was married to John M. Yourex, and they had Frank. Frank is listed as being born in Canada West, and being 10 according to an 1870 census record. Same family on a 1900 census record came to the U.S. in 1861. I have tried to contact this Sue Barnsley as it seems she has alot of info. on the Yourex family from Canada, but I've had no luck there either. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time,Michele
