Greetings, Yoltons. Here's the info I have on hand regarding Yoltons in Illinois.
My grandparents were: Leroy and Helen (Norton) Yolton.Leroy was likely born around 1900, was a doctor (family/general practitioner) in Bloomington/Normal.He was killed (perhaps by friendly fire?) in the Korean war.Helen was born Helen Norton in 1899 and passed away in the 1990's.
Leroy and Helen had three children (my father, aunt, uncle).June Yolton married Carl Cusey, Carl has since passed away and June has remarried, lives in Normal, IL, has a grown son Phil Cusey in Michigan.William Yolton (Bill) lived in Phildadelphia and Boston and now lives near Washington DC, has three children (Bruce Yolton in NYC, Beth in New England?, Debbie married in San Fran area), was/is involved in Presbyterian Church? and social causes.David (my father) married Shirlee Manlove (since passed away in a car accident in 1981), mostly lived in Philadelphia, now lives in Florida, has two children (Mark - me, living near San Francisco; and Kim - my sister, living in Cincinnati as hospital research psychologist and professor and married to Ray Yunkunis).
About 6 years ago, I did some Yolton research and came up with about 120 Yoltons in the U.S.It's in a file somewhere at home.I got lots of leads on geneology but never had the time to put it all together.Essentially found that we have lots of people in religion (ministers), music, doctors in the Yolton line. Also, that we all seem to descend from two brothers who came to the U.S. ... one seemed to stop in PA (lots of Pittsburgh area Yoltons) and another seemed to travel to the midwest (lots of Illinois, Minnesota Yoltons).
I'd be happy to send tons of research and letters from various Yoltons to someone who would put it together and make sense of it all for the rest of us.
