Michael Cadet-Young was not German, but French.He was born Michael Cadet in London in the Huguenot colony, and emigrated to Brunswick County, Va., where he adopted the name Young.He was not connected to the English family of Youngs in Bristol.Some of this family removed to Isle of Wight County, Va., where they were prominent.The Library of Va. archives has information on this family.
