Yunker family in St. Joseph County (Sturgis) Michigan
I would like to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of the Yunkers whose family immigrated in 1883 and may have settled in Sturgis (St. Joseph County) Michigan.A family of Yunkers arrived in New York aboard the ship France on on 12 April 1883. They were all show as having an origin of Switzerland and were registered on the ship manifest under the names of Juncker or Junker. The persons arriving on this ship were Anna Juncker age 6, Charles Juncker age 25, Elise Juncker age 11, Jacques (Jacob) Juncker age 22, Jacob Juncker age 80, Jean (John) Juncker age 16, Maria Juncker age 20, Nicolas Juncker age 7, Rudolphe Juncker age 8, Susanne Juncker age 60, and Jean (John)Junker age 19. I can see by census records that Yunkers by the name of Jacob, Suzanne, Rudolphe, Nicholas, and John settled in Sturgis MI and are likely to be people listed on that ship manifest.I would like to how those on the ship manifest are related to one another--or any other information that will help me learn more about this Yunker family.
