Hi, I just have spent a very happy half hour reading your exceptionally well-researched posts on the Zacharys; thank you for that. I am the great niece of Sarah Ann Campbell who married Fate Allen;I am also the great great granddaughter of Alexander Evans and Sarah Crockett Evans, so that makes me doubly interested in your posts.About the transcripts of Champ Ferguson's trial.....I, too, really want a look at them, but as of now, they are not available online.Western Kentucky University owns them. You have to go to the Univ. in person and request them, as they are stored in a vault.I found the listing:transcript compiled by Frank R.McGlasson, U.S. Army Surgeon.2 boxes, 11folders, 7 items.Holographic transcript and typescript. So, unless you can charm the Univ. into posting this marvelous stuff online (where it belongs!), you will have to go to Bowling Green in person, to Manuscripts and Folklife Archives, Dept. of library special collections, Ky Library and Museum.Sorry I don't have a phone number. If you ever get there to see the files, please remember me! (I live in Tx).
Do you know if the Albany Ky files still exist covering the hoo-hah that Champ Ferguson and other area Ky men had with Alec and Floyd Evans over a hog-buying deal gone bad? Oh, man!I so want to see those!
