Visit to Habkern, Switzerland
I should have written this earlier but as always things are busy.My wife and I had the opportunity to travel to Habkern, Switzerland with my grandparents during Easter 2007.While there we were able to visit the community museum and attend Easter services at the local reformed church.Due to the Easter holiday communion was take from special goblet and platter that has been in use for many generations on special occasions (so says the pastor). The level of enjoyment on this trip was only made possible by our long lost cousins and hosts Hans and Hanni Zenger and their families.Three of the most exciting parts of the visit were the similarities in men's names used in the families that stayed and the ones that moved to America; the ability to see physical appearance similarities between some Zengers there and here; and the large number of Zenger men in their families just as has been common amongst my branch of Zengers here in Kansas.I may try and post some photos in the future if I can find a way.
