Re: zenor family
Catherine Zenor married John Wheeler. The Zenor family have a town Zenor, Iowa named for them. It was a coal mining town and at one time had it's own Post Office. The family came to Iowa from Ohio or Indiana or both in Oxen pulled wagons. According to a news article the material which was obtained from Grandville Marion Wheeler they came from Ohio. John is allegedly buried in Story or Boone county Iowa and again allegedly he was buried once, dug up and moved to make room for a highway then reburied. I did not find the cemetery. My grandfather, Grandville Ellsworth, told me his family came from Canada, I know his Grandmother Malinda Benedict Wood did as this may be where I am confused. I have gleaned from records that my family surname Wheeler ancestors were in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Iowa. John had a son John Tipton buried Pinehill Cemetery as is his son James Tipton and their wives. The oldest I know of is Benjimin Wheeler who fought in the war of 1812 and died on the trip to Iowa at age 100.
My cousin Karma Burns Dyke, a professional geneolgist, and my cousin Norma Jean Cram furnished much of the informatin I have. Merritt Whitacre Wheeler also furnished some information. He was from the Zadloc Wheeler side but his dates fit.
I did not seperate my various surnames therefor I have almost 6000 names all lumped together. I do furnish free of charge a copy on CD using Broderbund or GED.
