Quest for info about early Appleton Zwickers.
Thank you Tom for answering my first message. I now have five cousins; you and your brothers, and of course Matt and Bill on the west coast. My son Kale is very much a people person. I however can manage without seeing or speaking to another for days at a stretch. But I find that I am now curious about the early Zwickers.I know next to nothing about my grandparents. Mom told me that her father died before she was born. But she said that he was a genius, that he invented the knitting mill, and that he died when hit by a train as he was observing an early aeroplane. That's the extent of my knowledge of the Zwicker clan.It doesn't begin to satisfy my sons curiosity. Genius' are usually observant people. How could my grandfather stand on a railroad track without noticing the train heading towards him??I suspect that my mother just didn't want to talk about her family, and that was her way of ending further questioning.
Tom, do you know of any Aunts or Uncles that are interested in the Zwicker genealogy??I will check this site more throughly, there might be info here. Again, thank-you Tom, for answering my first inquiry, and for the sharing of memories of Uncle Walt and his clan. It's comforting to know that they are close together years later.
Sincerely, Sonia
