John Adams (son of Zachariah Adams and ?) was born 1784, and died 1860.He married Elizabeth "Betsey" Clemmons, daughter of Hezekiah Clemmons.

Kentucky was not formed as a state until 1792. So far as the land Records of Laurel County obtain, John Adams did not acquire title to same
He and his father Zachariah, were natives of the Old Dominion, decended from one of the First Families of Virginia (F.F.V.). For many years he carried on a farm near Somerset, Pulaski County, KY., but finally retired from active cares to enjoy the comforts accumulated by a long life of toil. At the time of his death he was almost ninety years of age.
