ADAMS ADAIR CHAMBERS SHAIFFER RHINEHART WALLACE GENEALOGYUpdated October 7, 2004 | |
| RobertAdams | All of the names I am researching, except the Wallace’s, lived at one time in North Louisiana. The Wallaces migrated to North Texas in the mid 1850's. The Wallaces are descended from the Norman Conquerors of England and France and Kings of England. The most notable are William the Conqueror and King Richard Plantagenet, the Lionhearted, and King John Plantagenet of Robinhood fame. The Schaeffers (Shaiffers)came from France through Germany. All of the other families lived in Catahoula Parish in the Jena area at one time. The Adairs came from Ireland and Scotland through Georgia and finally to Louisiana. The Adams, Chambers and Rhineharts, of course, originally came from Europe, but their exact history is unknown at this time. Some of the families migrated from Catahoula Parish to Shreveport, Texas and Arkansas. Others stayed in the Central Louisiana area. The Chambers lived in Marthaville, Natchitoches Parish, then moved to East Texas, Shreveport, and southern Arkansas.I am looking for the Shaiffers. They seemed to disappear into thin air after leaving Catahoula Parish. Some of the Adairs moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area of Louisiana. Partriarch Joseph Adair settled in East Carroll Parish around1800 where Joe's Bayou flowed into Bayou Macon. At one time, Joseph also lived in Concordia Parish. His children were John, David, Martha, Sidney, Sarah, and a daughter who was suspected to have been kidnapped by Indians when an infant. She was the first born. John's children were Johnathan Marion, Mary Malinda, James, Richard Harding, Thomas, and William.
