John was a planter and yeoman.Spent his life in Topsfield.Not baptized until 31 years old when, in May 16, 1697, Rev. Joseph Capen performed the baptism of him and his brothers and sisters.This indicates that the family may have been Quakers.On April 13, 1724 his wife and widow Anna was granted administrator of his will.His wife Ann was convicted of practicing witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials and was hanged Sept 1, 1692.
John and Anna had six children.
