THE BALLEW's may have come from Flanders/France, before emigrating to America.Family oral history, through great-uncle Earl Ballew, says "two brothers came from France and settled near Lynchburg, Virginia; one brother married and had a family; the other did not." LILLIE MARSHALL's family lived about 50 miles inland of Galveston, TX and weathered the devastating 1900 hurricane.Lillie's lineage, through her maternal grandmother, appears to link to Simon de Montfort usurper of the English throne in 1265; the Plantagenet kings of England; their Norman forebear Henry I of England; Louis VI of France; Russian Grand Dukes of Kiev back to 877; Charlemagne; and other historic figures. THE MINTON's are said to be related to the famous Minton pottery/china founders in the United Kingdom. THE STRICKER's were German farmers living near the Volga River in Russia, who emigrated to Canada then to the United States. I am grateful to the extended family of cousins who have helped me learn more about my family's history. If you are related to any of the families listed here, I would like to hear from you! ---------------------------------------
