Richard Fontaine Maury's first job was on the Pennsylvania Tunnel from New York to New Jersey.When that job was completed he was offered a job in Argentina as a Civil Enginer, on a Railroad project to build a line from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.He rose rapidly and soon was given the entire management as Chief Engineer.It included bridges and tunneling under the Andes Mountains.After his death the Argentine Government erected several monuments to hismemeor and renamed one of their largest RR stations "Richard Maury."He died in a town called Saltain northern Argentina.
