Baumwell/Dickenson Family Tree:Information about Michael Howland
Michael Howland (b. Abt. 1761, d. Abt. 1839)

Michael is listed as a freeholder in Shrewsbury in the "Monmouth County 1790 Freeholders List."There are three Howlands shown as Freeholders on that list.Michael, his brother James, and their father George. The children of James are outlined in Franklyn Howland's book, Howlands in America on page, 195-196.There is no mention of Michael or his family as members of his descendants did not respond to Franklyn's inquiries concerning family history.
I worked from marriage records to create dates of birth. My assumptions are briefly outlines as follows so that other researcher will know.I assumed that the young women were married at age 18 and that the young men were married at age 21.In that way I could arrive at an appoximate date of birth.Since James children are in Franklyn's book on page 195-196.Michael Howland also left a will dated 1839.He lists his children and his second wife. His first wife is mentioned in the Zenas Maps marriage information to Nancy Howland, which identifies her age and parents.
In the Roster of the People of Revolutionary Monmouth County, Adelbery, 1997,Michael Howland is shown as indicted for misdemeanor, 1/1781 and again 5/1782.

Michael's family, as shown here in this genealogy is a hypothetical construct based on Monmouth county marriage records. My assumptions are briefly outlines as follows so that other researcher will know how I reached the conclusions I did,and can draw their own conclusions as to their validity.I surveyed all marriage records available.I assumed that the young women were married at age 18 and that the young men were married at age 21.In that way I could arrive at an appoximate date of birth.Since James children are in Franklyn's book on page 195-196, that left the children I have attributed to Michael.
