George Henry Beaver (son of Henry Matthias Beaver and Mary Nutt) was born 1886 in Fulham, London, and died 1943.He married Edith Cole on 1914.
Notes for George Henry Beaver:
He joined the 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry on November 27, 1901, initially as a bandsman (he played the French Horn). He enlisted for a period of 12 years and was discharged on November 26, 1913, having seen service in South Africa (he was stationed at Raglan Barracks, Ramsfontein), Malta and North China. He re-enlisted again at the outset of the First World War ("in the trenches, Xmas 1915"), but was wounded and recovered at Woolwich Military Hospital. He was awarded the Military Medal for his service in the Great War.
