5.Charlotte Gerdina Gecina Eylders, born January 08, 1901 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.She was the daughter of 10. Jan Gerrit Eylders and 11. Susanna Catharina Postel.
Marriage Notes
Hans and Charlotte with 3 year old, Charlotte, emigrated to America on The "New Amsterdam" of the Holland American Line in 1926.
Mr. Von Pelt mentioned to Mr. Van Doon who travelled later on theNew Amsterdam to San Francisco to visit Hans and Lotte.Corr & mary Van Doon .
Mr. von Pelt, the first class pantryman, invited Hans and Charlotte up to the cabin for some drinks, and became very good friends.Also, the baggage master, was very friendly to them.
Also, the baggage master,, was very friendy to the Meyers during the ship voyage.
They landed in New York City on July 4, 1926 and they thought the fireworks were for them (the emigrants), actually they were for the 4th of July.
They were sponsered by their Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Walters, Hans Uncle, and did not have to enter via Ellis Island.Rather, they travelled across the United States on the train to San Francisco.
They first lived on Eureka and 22nd street with the Walters at the grocery store.then they move to 245 Hoffmand street.then you move dto the 5 room apartmentold fashioned flat and furnished for $80. Live d there foryears.Had Hans while at the apartment.
They lived for $80 month salary
Then Charlotte did dressmaking and when Hans was 3-4 years they moved to the store, 24th street, near sanchez."Maison Charlotte" was what it was called.
Charlotte became friends with Angie's mother, Salamone. Tiny's mother.
Grandman had a sewmakiing shop and starting selling notions because everyone wanted to buy thread.she started buying 6 dozen thread and button and started to sell that.
Later, in 1936, they moved to 24th street near Castro where they made "Meyer's Variety".
They sold the store in 1964 , to retire from the business.
Hans got his real estate license and continued as a Broker for about 10 years or so.

They divorced approximately in 1938.
Grandma Jean married Henry Horst, butGrandpa Bob was always in love with Grandma Jean up until the day he died.
