These pages are dedicated to the memory of my father-in-law, Dow Darrell Bishop. He passed away just a few days ago, on June 4, 2009. These are some of his ancestors, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. We miss you Darrell.

Mrs. Wurzburger's letter and photo (614 KB) This is from a kind woman who lived on the land that actually was where John Bishop (Hans Johannes Bischoff) homesteaded. He and several other family members are reported to be buried on this land. Mrs. Wurzburger sent this photo (note the arrow) showing us where the graves were located, now, of course, no longer marked. Bishop Jr. and Emma Slone (3 KB) This is the family of William E. Bishop jr. and wife Emeritha Slone. Date unknown. Approximate location of Hawkins Bishop's murder (61 KB) This is where we believe the actual murder took place, on Harts Creek road in Logan County, West Virginia.
