"In a recent (1961) letter to Mrs. R. C. (Lorene) Wallace of Bartlesville, Edna Elizabeth Lee writes that she is planning to move back to Arkansas...She mentions the fact that her father, Francis Alexander Boatright (#19) and her uncle, Jesse S. Boatright (#16) worked hard in the 1890's trying to prove Cherokee Indian blood in order to be enrolled on the revised Roll of the Five Civilized Tribes.They were unable to positively prove the fact.Her uncle, Jesse S. "J. E. Boatright,
One of the oldest homesteads in Nodaway Twp. of Andrew County is the Boatright farm in Section 36, which has been under cultivation for more that a half a century and its present proprietor, J. E. Boatright, was born there more that a half century ago.
"He is a farmer and stock raiser, a thorough business man, and among other good things that came into his life is the head of a happy home and the father of a large family of children.
"J. E. Boatright was born on his present farm September 10, 1863, a son of Joseph and Sarah (Davidson) Boatright.His father, a native of Gentry Co., Missouri, served in the Confederate Army and was killed in service.This is the only child.His mother was born in Tennessee and came to Andrew County, Missouri with her parents as a child.She died on the old farm homestead, December, 1900 atthe age of 63.The family was of the Baptist faith."

"Levi Jacson Boatright, 80, died at the Wesley Hospital Tuesday morning.He lived at Hollister, and had been ill several months.Morn in St. Joseph, Missouri, Boatright made the run to near Kingfisher in 1889, but he returned to his home in Kansas.He later drew a claim in the big pasture country near Hollister and had lived there since.
He married in 1896, in Conway Springs, Kansas.He retired as a farmer in 1938.He was a member of the Methodist Church, and burial will be in Frederick, Oklahoma."
