| Notes for BENJAMIN SPEARMAN: John Clardy bought a farm in Anderson Co., SC.The farm was near where Bula <Beulah?> Church now stands.The boundary extended eastward from the Anderson Rd. to the Greenville Rd.He purchased 500 acres, the price 25 cents/acre.As there was no buildings on his farm, he remained with Benjamin Clardy on Saluda River.He sold this farm to his nephew Benjamin Spearman.It has been known as the Spearman settlement for most of 100 years.It is still owned by some of the family.
