According to notes of Major Betty Frank Coy, (retired USMC) found by Jason Bordeaux in March 1998, Madelaine and Daniel Brabant were left all of the land belonging to Jacques DeBourdeaux. Daniel's land holding soon grew to 2,528 acres and this later was known as Brabant Plantation. During the seige of Charleston (Rev War), the Brabant Plantation was, for a short time, used as a headquarters for Lord Cornwallis.
