Notes for John Frederick Orman:
John Frederick was born in Narrabri, NSW and he spent all his lifetime in the area.
He married Emily Barnes and formed a property "North Lynn" at Bullawa Creek. He and Emily four children.
Emily died at the age of 26 and it is believed she died at childbirth - Kathleen.
Annie Fox reared Kathleen and Hilda was reared by another member of the family, hence, this family really didn't get to know each other until many years later.
John's second marriage was to Elsie Ritter.
Although "North Lynn" was not a large holding, he grew enough to be self supporting. His crops were mostly fruits and vegetables and at dawn once a week, John could be seen on his way to market at Narrabri with his horse and dray.He also had his own shearing plant and did a lot of shearing in the district. He was a hard worker and not afraid to attempt any task and handle it well. His motto was "there's no such word as Can't".
A very kind and gently man who was liked by all who knew him, if educational opportunities were then as they are to-day, he would have gone a long way.
He is buried in Narrabri Cemetery.
Children of John Frederick Orman are:
