The Lammert and Schmitt Family of Milwaukee, WIUpdated July 13, 2007 | Barbara Lammert Broeniman [email protected] |
I am researching the LAMMERT Family from Tilleda,Sachen-Anhalt,Germany. Friedrich immigrated with his wife, Minna FRANKE, and their six children: Frieda, Bruno, Otto, Paul, Bernhardt and Elizabeth. They arrived in Baltimore, MD 17 August 1893 on the ship SS Russia out of Bremen, Germany. From there they traveled west to Wisconsin where they settled in Milwaukee. They owned and operated a bakery for many years on Buffum Street. Family history states that Friedrich was a baker for the Kaiser. I am also researching the SCHMITT family from Seckach, Mosbach, Baden,Germany. Alois, his wife, Walburga AUMUELLER, and son, Fridolin, left Germany probably in October of 1852,arriving in London, England where they boarded the ship, American Eagle, on October 9, 1852 and headed off to America. They arrived at the Port of New York on November 7, 1852, a quick passage of only 30 days. From New York they headed west to Wisconsin, settling in Milwaukee. They owned and operated a butcher shop on Milwaukee's north side. This is a "work in progress" and will never be fully completed. This tree is the work of many family members, plus fellow researchers who have shared information with me.My heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you. |
