in 1637.He was Town Clerk, a Judge, a Commissioner, and served many terms to the Connecticut legislature.Made Captain of the training band in 1675.Given task to make improvemants to the fort at Saybrook in 1676.Owned considerable land at Saybrook, Haddam, East Haddam, and Hebron.House was at Saybrook Point near Oyster River.Left 1500 acres each to sons John, Robert, and Nathaniel at Hebron.
