| Frederick Alan Buck 11649#5 Timber Ridge Lane Sharonville,Ohio 45241 513-530-5171 | My name is Fred Buck and genealogy is one of my hobbies. I have been seriously researching my family roots during the last eleven years and have built a data base of almost 70,000 names of relatives and relatives-of-relatives. My family ancestors emigrated to the U.S. from Germany during the last half of the 19th century and settled initially in the New York Boroughs of Manhatten, Brooklyn and Queens. Later generations of the family moved to Long Island and subsequently have spread out throughout the U.S. In Germany, different branches of my family lived in the Kingdom of Hannover, the Prussian province of Posen, the Grand Duchy of Hesse-Darmstadt, the Bavarian province of the Pfalz, the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Kingdom of Wuerttemberg. I even have ancestors from Belgium and Switzerland from back in 1600's and the Netherlands from back in the 1300's. The villages and family names that I am currently researching include Lamstedt (the BUCK and WILKENS families), Bargstedt (the OERDING family), Oldendorf (the SCHOMAKER family) and Dannenberg (the WAPPAUS family) in Hannover; Steinfurth, Wisselsheim and Grebenau (the HANSULT family) in Hesse-Darmstadt; Kirrweiler and Diedesfeld (the GASSMEYER family) in the Pfalz and Gochsheim and Stein in Baden (the GASSENMEYER family, earlier ancestors of the GASSMEYER family from the Pfalz) and Gollantsch in Posen (the ZIRK/ZIRKE family).A more detailed listing of the villages and family names of my ancestors is given in the report below entitled "Genealogy Interests". I have concentrated much of my efforts thus far on the villages of Steinfurth and Wisselheim (near Bad Nauheim) and hope to eventually post family group sheets for these villages. |
